As a science fiction writer, I am absolutely loving all the current news about UFO disclosure. Have you been seeing it in the news? In an effort to create better government transparency, the Trump Administration has been declassifying documents related to past UFO activity and investigations. Far from being definitive regarding the existence of extraterrestrial life, the materials do clearly show that unusual and unexplainable aerial phenomena have been investigated for the past 80 years or so.
Then, just last week, a news story appeared on FoxNews.com with the title: “UFO insider claims US has bodies of 4 different alien species from downed spacecraft in government custody.”
Only five years ago, most people would have laughed at all this. Today, in the new era of UFO disclosure, we see everyday people being asked if they believe in aliens, and they say things like: “I don’t see how we can think we’re alone in the universe anymore.” They are believing it, but are they really? Or is the hype over UFO disclosure just creating mass acceptance with no real evidence?
Reading the signs of the times like the forward-thinking filmmaker he is, Steven Spielberg has even directed a movie about this subject titled Day of Disclosure. The film is being released on June 12, right in the middle of this declassified-documents surge. I applaud Spielberg for his timing. After watching the movie trailer, I also think the film will be fairly entertaining. Maybe he’ll make an “E.T. 2: The return of E.T.” after this. If so, my question is: will E.T. be FaceTiming home, dm’ing home, or texting home in the next one?

If you’ve been following my blog, you know I have been writing about this stuff for years now. At first, I was doing it show potential publishers that my novel PLANET OF EDEN, which is about alien abduction and extraterrestrial life, was dealing with a subject that was still relevant and popular. Later, I became more interested UFOs because I just thought the whole possibility was so cool. Wow! Look where we are today! I no longer have to convince publishers, readers, or anyone else that UFO curiosity is a hot topic. I just wish people would discover PLANET OF EDEN now, because it portrays a really unique twist on the subject.
I was recently asked by a bookstore owner what I, as a sci-fi writer, thought about all this UFO disclosure. Well, my opinion has not changed since I wrote my God and Aliens blog post back in 2022. Check out that post if you’re interested.
PROJECT UPDATES
Now, on to my writing updates. I mentioned earlier this month that I am writing two novels at the same time—PLANET OF PERDITION and MILLENYA. Currently, MILLENYA (pronounced like the word “millennia”) is really taking off! I am already on the fifth chapter, and it is so much fun writing it.
For you fans of PLANET OF EDEN, don’t worry; Perdition is at chapter 13, and it will probably be another thick book with at least 30 chapters. I had reached a point in that story where I needed to step away so I could make sure the various plotlines were connecting properly. There is a lot happening in that book!

So, MILLENYA has been a pleasant distraction, and this one will be much shorter and a pretty fast read (I’m aiming at only 20 chapters with a publish date just before the Holidays.). What is it about? I’ll share a complete summary with you soon. For now, I can only say that it has to do with robots, AI, and how they will, or will not, affect Christianity in the future. It is a sci-fi mystery novel that may bring the classic Blade Runner movie to mind. The book will be marketed as Christian Science Fiction, and I hope it will gain a lot of attention in the Christian fiction market.
On top of all this writing, I do freelance editorial work and am also working on Christian discipleship educational materials. Busy? Yeah, just a little. But I make time for my two sons, my wonderful friends, my own self-care, my church, and whatever else God sends my way.
You don’t have to be a Type A personality or workaholic to juggle all the things in life properly, friends. You just have to know how to prioritize, invest in people, and get rest. More importantly, when you make your relationship with God the main thing in your life, He will empower you and “direct your paths” (See Proverbs chapter 3).
On that note…be blessed, my awesome Edenites!
