I would like to express a hearty “Thank you!” to everyone who visited Honey Rock Books and Café during Downtown Gallatin’s annual Square Fest and National Independent Bookstore Day yesterday!

I was able to chat with many book lovers, fans of PLANET OF EDEN, and even fellow authors and book club advocates like Jennifer (pictured here with yours truly).
Of course, I also say “Thank you!” again to Honey Rock for inviting me to do a book signing. The rain that was forecast never materialized, and, instead, we had a beautiful Tennessee day. My brother Al, sister-in-law Tawny, and niece Chloe came down from Indiana to visit for the day, making it a true family affair with my two sons Dax and Vance. What a great day of books, music, fellowship, and fun!
PROJECT UPDATES
PLANET OF PERDITION is coming along nicely. I just finished a chapter that includes a scene I had not originally planned in the outline. That is how a story can often have a life of its own. Once you get into the flow of writing (the “zone”), your creativity will sometimes suggest new ideas. Not all of them work, but I have found that if I listen to my creative intuition, most of those unplanned ideas end up being keepers. In this case, I was able to add the mystery of an unusual partnership during the hunt for the lost Dah-Ahey boy, Sah. I won’t reveal any spoilers, but when you get to this chapter, you are going to be very surprised by the teaming up of two important characters with two very different agendas.

Amazingly, I have also started writing a book that is not in the PLANET trilogy: Millenya. Because Millenya has much to do with Ai, I feel the time is right to get this one out of my head and into book form. Indeed, it seems every other conversation I have with people gravitates to the pros and cons of using Ai, so I unapologetically plan to capitalize on the heightened interest.
Millenya will be much shorter than Eden and Perdition—not a novelette, but definitely not a long read. The story is demanding to be written, but I don’t want to sideline the PLANET trilogy for too long, especially when I am making such great progress on PLANET OF PERDITION.
So, send your prayers and encouragement, dear Edenites! It’s hard enough writing one book. Now, I’m going to tackle two! Stayed tuned for more updates…and stay awesome!
