Why another book about UFOs and alien abductions? That’s easy: people love UFOs. We enjoy the mysterious. We like to speculate and dream. We wonder what else might be beyond our beautiful, blue planet.
Yes, the UFO craze is still alive and well, my friends. I have been writing about it in this blog for several years now. That is partly from a personal fascination, but I also do it to show how UFOs are still a hot topic. My forthcoming novel, Planet of Eden, which will be available on May 7, turns the whole subject on its head. And I can’t wait to see readers’ reactions.
Every so often, the news media toss another story our way about UFO sightings or investigations. Just yesterday, I came across this one about a “flying cylider” sighted by a young mother from her seat in a commercial airplane above LaGuardia Airport in New York. The video footage is compelling.
Then, there’s the story out of Las Vegas about a family that claims a frightening, non-human creature visited their backyard and that “demonic activity” has been happening inside of their home. This is the first recent story I have read that links aliens with demons, which is something many Christians use to explain away supposed extra-terrestrial activity.
I am not going to comment on these stories. Their purpose in this post is to demonstrate our collective and continued fascination with UFOs and the unknown. People love UFOs. It will be a sad day if they ever get debunked.
Project Eden Update
May 7, the publishing date for Planet of Eden, is quickly approaching! As a fellow Edenite and a blog follower, I hope you are as excited as I am! This week, I sent a press release about it to 34 Christian news media outlets. You can read the release HERE. Since Planet of Eden includes Christian themes in its plot twists, I thought readers of religious fiction would appreciate a very different slant regarding the search for extraterrestrial life. Next, I will be targeting secular news outlets, bloggers, social media influencers, and booksellers. The Project Eden marketing machine is rolling!
Have you told anyone about Planet of Eden yet? Your endorsement and word-of-mouth promotion will be the most effective parts of my marketing strategy. I need to get people talking about Eden. I know you haven’t even read the book yet, but you know me, and you can still encourage others to consider checking it out. Feel free to use my Press Release and website to explain what it’s all about.
As far as sales, all three formats—digital, softcover, and hardcover—will be available through Amazon.com and through your favorite booksellers on May 7. If you go to Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Books-A-Million right now, you will see that Planet of Eden is already available for pre-order!
The next time you visit a bookstore or library, if you do not see Planet of Eden on their shelves, suggest that they should order some copies. They can get them through their special distribution channels.
As always, thank you, dear friends, for being with me on this long publishing journey! I look forward to hearing from you in the coming months, especially after you have read Eden. For me, the marketing continues, life is getting interesting again, and I have the next book, Planet of Perdition, to write! Seek wellness this summer, friends. See to your health—body, mind, spirit. And keep being an awesome YOU!
